Part Two:
Healthy Mind . . . Healthy Body
Chapter Seven:
It's More Than Just Exercise?
Chapter Description:
It is a wonderful thing to see so many people being
active and exercising. Walker, joggers, and bikers seem to be everywhere,
but the true fact of the matter is that only 60% of Americans get regular
exercise. Even for those who do get regular exercise, weeks or months go
by without any exercise. It's easy to "fall off the exercise wagon" so
to speak; illness, stress, time pressure, and money are just a few common
and legitimate excuses. Excuses are easy to come by. Everyone knows that
exercise makes you healthier, stronger and facilitates weight maintenance;
yet, you may not do it as often as you could. This topic is placed at the
end of this book because it is so vital to weight loss. Placing it at
the end will assure that you have tried to get other areas of your life
in balance, which will help you digest even more of this chapter. This
chapter will discuss the not so obvious reasons why exercise is important
so that you may begin to see exercise as less of a chore and more like a
best friend. Exercise is an activity that does more than just burn calories.
